This service is led by Dr Angela Suarez, who has a particular focus on skin cancer medicine and minor procedures. From assessment and diagnosis through to treatment, you can have much of your care in the one place.

Assessing a suspicious spot

If you or your usual doctor are concerned about a mole or spot, the first step is a careful assessment. This may include a close look with a dermatoscope, which is a magnifying tool with a light. If a spot needs testing, your doctor may take a small sample, called a biopsy, and send it to pathology. You'll get a clear explanation of what's found and what the options are.

Minor surgery at the clinic

Many skin procedures can be done at the clinic under local anaesthetic, which numbs the area so you're awake but comfortable. These include removing skin cancers and other lesions, along with cysts and skin lumps. Your doctor will explain what the procedure involves, the likely result, and the risks, such as scarring or infection, before you decide. You'll also get clear instructions for looking after the area afterwards.

Follow-up and prevention

After treatment for a skin cancer, regular follow-up is important, as it helps pick up any new or returning spots early. Your doctor will let you know how often to come back.
