General practice care for adults and children

At Mermaid Central Medical Clinic, our GPs look after the everyday health of local families. We see adults and children for new and ongoing concerns, from coughs, colds and minor injuries through to long-term conditions, mental health support and routine check-ups. The clinic sits in the heart of Mermaid Beach and is open seven days a week, so you can usually find a time that suits.

More than 12 doctors consult from our rooms, which means you have a choice of GP and a good chance of being seen quickly. If you can't find a suitable time online, give us a call. Urgent appointments are kept aside each day and may not always show on the booking system.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a referral to see a GP?

No. You can book directly with the clinic without a referral. You may need a referral later if your GP recommends seeing a specialist.

Can I book online?

Yes. You can book online any time through our appointment system. If you need to be seen urgently and can't find a suitable time, call us on 07 5575 2444 and let reception know.

Do you bulk bill?

Bulk billing is available for eligible Medicare card holders. Some appointments and services may involve a gap fee. Reception can confirm any costs before your visit, and our Fees page has the details.

Can you see my children?

Yes. Our GPs care for patients of all ages, including babies and children, and our nurses provide childhood immunisations.

What if I need to be seen today?

We keep urgent appointments aside each day. These don't always show online, so phone the clinic and tell reception you need to see a doctor as soon as possible. For a severe medical emergency, call 000 or go to your nearest emergency department.
